Grindelwald and Wengen ski area

August 1, 2017

Nestled in the heart of the Swiss Alps, unearths the quaint little towns of Wengen and Grindelwald. Both have retained their old fashioned Swiss charm with the sounds of cowbells still audible and the modern architecture fitting with very traditional standards.

Suited and booted, ready to ski, snowboard or toboggan, be prepared to be astounded by the North face of the Eiger, a magnificent Mountain towering high above the ski area.

Catering for all levels of skiing, this resort is not only a must for first time snowsporters but also to those looking to sink knee deep in the ‘off-piste’ powder on the Lauberhorn mountain.

Take a break from the fast paced ski/snowboard activities and warm up in any of the inviting traditional cafes and restaurants. One must try a hot chocolate with cream and rum or a mulled wine. It is equally fun to explore the meeting point of the two ski areas, Kleine Scheidegg with its fantastic teepees providing Après-ski.

For the non-skiers, the opportunity to embark on an exquisite scenic train journey to the Eiger Glacier Station at 11,000ft, otherwise known as the  Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe, is a must. If that is not your cup of tea, the Kleine Scheidegg to Grund toboggan run is a wild ride and a must for any adrenaline enthusiast.
